4.1.2 Detection limits
The detection limits can be derived from a statistical point of view. It has been proven that the replicate results
of a measurement can be described using a probability distribution. If we assume that the probability P(y) of detecting
a signal y can be described with a Gaussian distribution with an average value
μ and a standard deviation
