The main properties of x-rays are:

• Invisible to the human sight.

• Propagated in straight lines with the velocity of light.

• Unaffected by electrical and magnetic fields.

• Can be reflected, refracted, diffracted and polarized by interactions with special materials.

• Capable of ionizing the matter.

• Differentially absorbed by matter, depending on their energy and on matter composition, density and thickness.
